Jon has worked all over the world from Africa to New Zealand, working on a variety of documentaries, feature films and dramatic TV series. If the answer is no, then he does everything in his power to fix the situation and improve the quality of the sound being recorded. Whether it’s a feature film, documentary or TV series, he tries to ask himself “would I be happy mixing this in post?”. Having experience on both sides of production has given Jon a new appreciation for sound, and has enabled him to approach new projects with a different mindset. After spending many years inside a studio, he felt it was a breath of fresh air to work out on location, meeting new people every day, filming interesting and exciting content, and travelling the world. He was immediately hooked on the filming process and was excited to be a part of the production as it was being created. He spent the next 7 years learning from some of the industry’s leading sound engineers, working at a variety of studios and broadcasters in Toronto including CTV and TSN.Īfter working in audio post production, Jon made the decision to venture out and specialize in location sound mixing and recording. He started his career in 2003 working in the music industry, but soon found a passion for audio production in television and film. Jon Lebrun is a production sound mixer and location sound recordist based out of Ottawa, Ontario.
